About
Yanbo said he wanted to do a walk that goes all the way across the TTC green line, from Kennedy to Kipling. We were like, aight cool!! So this is it: a full cross-city walk following the spirit of TTC Line 2, from the east end of the green line to the west end. We’ll meet at Bloor-Yonge Station on the Line 2 eastbound platform at 10:00 AM sharp , take the subway together to Kennedy Station , and start the walk from there at 10:45 AM sharp . The goal is simple: walk from Kennedy to Kipling in one day. This is a serious long-distance walk, not a casual photo walk or sightseeing hangout. We’ll move at a steady pace and take planned breaks along the way for food, water, washrooms, and recovery. There will be three break points along the route: Stop 1: Coxwell Station (~9km) Stop 2: Bloor-Yonge (~15km) Stop 3: Dundas West . (~20km) Destination: Kipling Station (~27km) Each break will last around 35 to 45 minutes , depending on our pace. You do not need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable walking for several hours. The route roughly follows Line 2 across Scarborough, East York, downtown Toronto, the west end, and finally Etobicoke. Since we’ll be close to the subway line for most of the route, people can leave early at almost any station if they need to. Please bring comfortable walking shoes, water, snacks, weather-appropriate clothes, and anything else you need for a full day outside. Cameras are welcome, but this walk is mainly about completing the route, so pack light and make sure you count every gram you carry. what to bring? Power banks Headphones Entertainment- podcasts, music, audio books to listen to Sun protective clothing/sunscreen, hats Snacks Water bottle - we'll be making stops every once in a while so don't need to lug around a ton of water Change of socks Bandaids/anti chafing cream, other blister prevention/care Presto/payment method to get on transit if you wanna dip early money to buy food/water Here's the route we'll be taking: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1dV6FYgwsb6pMMJ_P4fkMoJRn8Mh-Img&usp=sharing You can untick Sections 1-4 to see just the breaking points.
